Winden Map

Winden was the second region released in PMU, with its dungeons mainly revolving around the Ice type. Most of the dungeons are for around level 30-50s. The outskirts of Winden used to be called "Winden Tundra" but have been renamed "Winden Taiga".

To enter the region for the first time, the player needs to complete Winden Pass, which requires Cut to get to. After this, the player can take two alternate paths that require Rock Smash, or use Fly.

You can fly to Winden from north of the sky.

Dungeons[]

Notable Locations[]

Snowbasin Town[]

Snowbasin Town is the main town in Winden.

Snowball Mini-Game[]

Winden's exclusive snowball mini-game is found east of Snowbasin Town.

Winden Training Dojo[]

Winden Training Dojo has the dungeon of the same name and Winden's arena.

NPCs

461 Weavile Sensei: To get stronger, many Pokémon come here to train and test their abilities in the arena.

Nivenath Outpost[]

Nivenath Outpost

Nivenath Outpost is a small camp that is southwest from Snowbasin Town in the Winden Range. It features a rest stop for 1,500 Poké Poké, a Chimecho post and a Kangaskhan statue. Nivenath Outpost is additionally where the player can go if they have a Snowflake Key Snowflake Key and wish to recruit an Alolan Vulpix.

NPCs

461 Maven: These two buffoons are always arguing, and they're driving my customers away. This is not good for my business!

628 Tillus: Don't listen to that fool Ulfric. There are many benefits to collaborations between different regions. You agree with me, right?

217 Ulfric: I don't think there is any need for a unification of all the regions. Winden can do just fine on its own.

Expedition Camp

Expedition Camp[]

The expedition camp is an area east of Winden, past Snowveil Den, northeast of Lake of Acuity. Several Winden Expeditionists inhabit it and are investigating the outskirts east of Winden. The entrance to Frigid Rivulet is located here, which requires the move Dive. Near the dive spot is a Chimecho Assembly.

Upon first arriving here, the player approaches a group of Pokémon preparing to explore Frigid Rivulet.
(You hear a group of Pokémon near the river speaking...)
  • Incineroar: So, this must be it... That "river portal" the mayor was speaking of. We're used to tough explorations, yet I can't help but feel a little afraid...
  • Incineroar: This part of Winden is completely unknown to the explorers here, and moreover, it is said to be under the effects of some kind of curse...
  • Oranguru: We could still go back at this point. But, we've made it so far already... We have to be brave.
  • Incineroar: There's no backing down now! The mayor has said only a team as capable and well-rounded could handle something like this. So...
  • Incineroar: ...Are you ready to conquer the unknown, my friends?
  • Gengar: Keh?! I must admit... I am a little scared too, standing here... But let's do it! Let's make our mayor proud! Heh!
  • Oranguru: Ready! We mustn't wait any longer, like the rest of the expeditionists!
  • Gengar: Aye! You lead, Oranguru...
  • Winden Expenditionist: Woah! Did they just make the leap?! Unbelievable!
  • [Player Name]: (What a strange bunch... What was that all about?)
  • [Player Name]: (And what's that strange "river portal" they were speaking about? And that "curse"...)
  • [Player Name]: (I should ask around more before proceeding. Perhaps some of the expeditionists know...)
NPCs

008 Wartortle: I can't bear Snowbasin and its surroundings anymore. That wretched castle, and then the influence it has always had over us! I want to broaden my horizons

000-a Alolan Raichu: Rumors say that an entirely different civilization lives beyond this river... I wonder if that is true.

059 Arcanine: We're all here for our on reasons. Some want to escape their daily life to look for a better place. Others want to find out about the world beyond what's known. I'm here for the latter reason.

207 Gligar: Apparently, something bad happened to Winden in the past, causing parts of Winden and its inhabitants to be cursed. There's no use at all trying to talk about it with Scarfty! It's like he believes it's all a conspiracy...

538 Throh: We have no idea what lurks beyond this point, but I'm mighty curious for sure. Just what resides in those rivers? A river monster?!

560 Scrafty: They claim that something horrific happened to Winden in its ancient past. I think it's all one big fairy tale, honestly.

626 Bouffalant: I once used to be part of a Rescue Team. Together with my best buddies Drampa and Talonflame, we saved a lot of Pokémon in need. It is truly a noble cause! However, I'm getting a little old for it now...

660 Diggersby: Our mayor doesn't do anything to better Winden's circumstances. We're done, I'm telling ya! It's time to find a new life!

000-a Crabominable: I don't know what would happen if you'd take a dive into that river. Who will take the first leap into the unknown?

Frigid Heights[]

Frigid Heights is another town in Winden, found to the east. It can only be accessed once the player has completed Frigid Rivulet at least once.

Icy Burrows[]

There are two underground staircases in Winden that allow the player to recruit either Alolan Vulpix or Alolan Sandshrew. Inside both is a small hallway with locked doors. You need a specific key to open one; Snowflake Key Snowflake Key for Vulpix and Icicle Key Icicle Key for Sandshrew. Beyond is another room with Honey Honey in it. Using the Honey will spawn the respective Alolan for the burrow you went into at level 5, with a 100% recruit rate (as long as you are higher leveled). Vulpix's burrow is located in the Nivenath Outpost hidden behind trees (shown above), and Sandshrew's burrow is south-east of Snowbasin Town, beyond Crystal Falls.

Note that you can get both Alolan forms as recruits in Iceberg Cavern.

Primrose's Hut[]

Primrose is a Primeape who lives in a small building right outside Winden Pass' exit and north of Snowbasin Town. Her purpose is to aid players who happen to get "stuck" in Winden by not having Fly, Rock Smash, and setting their spawn there. Also serves as a shortcut back to Winden Pass.

Icy Grotto Hideout[]

Cleanup
This article or section is in need of clean up.
Reason: Does it require beating SpTh main path, or will side paths work?
You can help P.MysteryUniverse Wiki by editing it.

Team Tactful Tension, consisting of Gengar, Incineroar, and Oranguru, who you first meet when entering Spectral Thicket the first time, resides here.

This area is only accessible if you have beaten Spectral Thicket.

NPCs

094 Gengar: Keke, can you believe it? Team Tactful Tension's first mission failure! What a bummer! They want us to retreat from Winden-East and focus elsewhere. Bah, I can't believe we let this happen!

000-a Incineroar: Grah! Can't believe we were taken aback by that critter in Spectral Thicket! Its sneaky tricks caught us off guard, but mark my words, next time I'll unleash the full fury of my fiery fists and show 'em who's the real boss!

000-a Oranguru: Within this damp cave, we found refuge and respite. Your intervention, dear adventurer, broke our curse and possibly saved our lives. For this, we extend our heartfelt gratitude.

Rest Stops[]

Trivia[]

  • Winden existed in PMU 6 along with Exbel, Tanren, and Archford.
  • In PMU 6, there was a location west of Winden Town that would serve as the player's passage into Archford.
    • In PMU 7, the player can find a Delibird NPC in Greenport Town who mentions running a Lapras ferry to Winden, referencing this.
