Time is a mechanic in PMU that affects other aspects of the game. There are four different variations of time: dawn, day, dusk, and night. The time changes after a certain amount of real-world time. Dawn and dusk last 2 hours while day and night last 4 hours. All times have an effect on the way non-inside maps look. Some Pokémon as well as dungeons are exclusive to certain times.
Each time change usually adds a new mission to a player's mission board.
Checking the Time[]
One can tell the time of the day by looking at the color of the overworld.
If unfamiliar, using the command /time
will show the current time and the amount of time until the next change.
When logging in, the welcome message will also display the current time.
Lastly, there is a time room located in Delite Plaza. It is considered mostly useless since the command is far quicker and informational.
Time-based Evolutions[]
Time-based Pokémon evolutions require the evolutionary items Sun Ribbon or Lunar Ribbon. If the evolution requires friendship and a time of day, only a ribbon will be needed. If the evolution requires time and a unique item, only the unique item will be needed.
Time-based Dungeons[]
There are currently three dungeons associated with the time of the day.
- Dream Grove is a Tanren Undercity dungeon which has the daydream version when it is dawn or day and the nightmare version when it is dusk or night.
- Mystic Coven is a Tanren dungeon that can only be accessed during dusk or night.
- Dynamo Sands is a Tanren dungeon that has different access points scattered throughout the Tanren Desert depending on the time of the day.
