Water and darkness are found throughout the entire dungeon. The floors' layout tend to be labyrinthic, with long hallways stretching out the vast rooms. As such, large amounts of wild Pokémon can spawn in each room, some with powerful AoEs like Blizzard and Muddy Water, so be careful.

Battered Deck

After Floor 30, the player is warped to a puzzle midpoint. You have to race towards the other side after opening the path with a switch, while avoiding the holes; stepping onto one will send you into the Concave Chamber, a small room with a teleporter that brings you back to the beginning.

Queen's Sanctum

Queen's Sanctum

At the end of the dungeon, you'll find a special house-like chamber where Magearna and a Gothitelle maid reside. If you speak to Magearna and accept her request, she tells you the story of the S. S. August.

Winden's royalty fled to oversea after a group of unknown entities cast a curse over the region of old, but eventually sank due to overflowing water after sighting what seems to be Iceberg Adrift. She also mentions visions of unresting turmoil in present Winden, specifically referring to Spectral Thicket, Concealed Laboratory and Crystal Castle. On the other hand, the maid won't say anything.

  • Very well... my name is Magearna. I was once the Queen's dearest treasure. A gift from interregional relationships. I wasn't always conscious the way you see me now. Way back then, in ancient times... What is now known as Winden used to be a vast, strong empire, led by our dear Queen. We were prosperous... Other regions wanted to ally with us. Diverse unknown entities started seeking out our help. But we grew so much... We kept growing and growing... The power got to the Queen's head. Long story short, a certain group of entities unleashed a curse upon our lands. I'm uncertain of what exactly happened, but our citizens started to act strangely... ...It was like their energy was slowly fading away! At the same time, I seem to have absorbed some of that energy. After that, everything got worse. The weather started changing, it became colder and colder, until the Empire was completely covered in ice... Our Queen decided it was unsafe for the Royal Family. So, we sought refuge here, aboard the S. S. August. We set sail, but we had no idea where to. All that mattered was getting away from that cursed mainland. We spent days, weeks, maybe months at sea, with no contact to mainland. Finally, there seemed to be land in sight. Huge chunks of frozen landmass encompassed the area. Then, a terrible accident happened. Water started overflowing the S. S. August... Most escaped, but I was left behind here. I lost consciousness for a very, very long time, and become a lifeless artifact on this ship. For decades, the energy I had absorbed has managed to keep this floor of the ship in a timeless state, awaiting the return of the King and Queen, if that day ever comes. I'm uncertain of their whereabouts. Recently, I sensed unrest in the former empire. Visions... An evil spirit in a nearby thicket, a strange laboratory, the former Queen wanting to seek revenge... Those ancient entities waking up from their slumber. Things don't seem well, so I've used up the last of my energy to bring part of what's left of the S. S. August back to the surface, in the hopes somebody will be alerted. For now, please make yourself at home...

Dungeon Objective

Risen Derelict has a good Secret Room that offers items of great value. It also has the exclusive recruit Dhelmise. There is a chance of getting Magearna's Heart Slate at the end boxes, and lots of Reviver Seeds, Revival Herbs, and Revives scattered across the dungeon.

Tips

  • Risen Derelict can contain quite a bit of sellables, such as Pearls, Relics, and Nuggets, to afford lots of Poké. However, they appear hidden inside the walls and water, so a Pokémon with Frisk, Treasure Specs Treasure Specs, and a Ghost-type or a Mobile Scarf Mobile Scarf are recommended.
    • Likewise, it has a lot of supplies like Ethers, apples, and Elixirs should you be running low on those. Bringing a balance between inventory space and supplies is advised.

Trivia

  • Risen Derelict was released on January 16th in 2021, as part of the Winden-East Expansion.
  • Despite signs in the nearby area mentioning the S. S. August would sail towards Iceberg Adrift, Magearna mentions how they had no idea where they were going back then.
  • Risen Derelict was created by Syni.
