Missions are jobs that consist of rescuing Pokémon, escorting them places, and delivering them items. Missions always take place in dungeons. They vary in rank based on the dungeon they're in and what floor they're on. Completing these missions give players Explorer Points and an item reward. Mission rewards are not sent to Kangaskhan Storage if the bag is full. The player must have enough space for rewards or they will not receive them.
Missions are accessed from the mission board in Grassroot Town, located northeast of the town square. It is to the left of the housing center and has Manual the Porygon beside it, who explains more about missions when interacted with. The missions on the board are chosen at random from the dungeons you have completed. A new one generates at every time change. You do not have to be online for a new mission to generate, but it's advised.
The mission board and your personal job list can hold up to eight missions. Missions you have taken need to be accepted from the Job List menu before they appear in the dungeon, turning their name from white to yellow. Through the job list, a mission can also be discarded or sent to another player. To send a mission, the receiver has to have beaten the dungeon and be standing adjacent to the sender. You can only send a particular mission once to a single player. A player who has received a sent mission cannot resend that mission to someone else. Sending a mission does not remove the mission from the sender's list.
It is not possible to rescue other players, with guilds being an exception, as players in the same guild can see each other in dungeons regardless of being in a party or not.
Explorer Points[]
Explorer Points are used to determine your current Explorer Rank. They are obtained by completing these missions, and earning enough points increases your rank.
Explorer Rank[]
There are 13 Explorer Ranks in total, and with a higher Explorer Rank, the player gains special privileges:
- Higher recruitment rate
- Bigger storage
- Bigger bag
- Ability to pick up and buy items of higher rarity (rarity number corresponding to rank order)
- Ability to use more commands in their house
- Ability to create a guild
- Ability to use Heart Slates
At Gold Rank, you can use Croagunk's Swap Shop in Delite Plaza to create 3* family items.
At Master Rank, a guild can be made in a housing center for 100,000 Poké. You'll also be able to play as Legendary/Mythical Pokémon while in dungeons, provided that you have a Mystery Part, a Heart Slate of the Legendary or Mythical, 200,000 Poké (plus an additional 100,000 Poké for each Slate after the first), and access to the Southeastern Village.

Mission Types[]
There are three different types of missions that a player can receive. All of them require going to the destined floor of a dungeon and stepping on the mission tile; this tile is gray with the client Pokémon in the center, along with a flag.
The first type of mission that a player can get are rescues. These simply require going into the dungeon and stepping onto the mission's tile.
The second type of mission that a player can get are escorts. These require the player to bring an escort Pokémon to the mission's tile. The escort is always level 5 and automatically joins the player's team after the dungeon is entered if they have an empty team slot. If the escort faints and is not revived, the mission cannot be completed. If you leave the dungeon before the escort is completed, the escort Pokémon will leave the team.
The third type of mission is an item request. The player must bring the requested item to the mission's tile. If they don't have the item, stepping on the target tile will not complete it. Unless the item can be found within the dungeon itself, the player will need to have already brought it with them to the dungeon. Requested items are generally easy to get or purchasable with Poké from a shop.
Multiple jobs can be taken and accepted for the same dungeon, so it is possible to complete multiple jobs in one dungeon run. Multiple missions on the same floor will generate multiple mission tiles—one per mission.
Mission Ranks[]
Missions can be of varying ranks which determine their difficulty. Based on the ranks from Explorers of Time, Darkness and Sky, missions go from rank E to S and *1 to *9. The reward in points and the item a mission will give is based on the rank of it. In-game, missions of ranks higher than B show point amounts from Explorers of Time and Darkness, but actually give points relative to Sky's amount.[1]
Difficulty | Points |
---|---|
E | 10 |
D | 15 |
C | 20 |
B | 30 |
A | 60 |
S | 90 |

Dungeon Mission Ranks[]
You can help P.MysteryUniverse Wiki by adding it.
Each dungeon that can have missions will get them at one or more specific mission rank. Which ranks of the missions a dungeon can get are dependent on the difficulty of the dungeon itself.

Trivia[]
- Early on in PMU 7, unreleased dungeons would sometimes show up on the mission board with a mission, even though the player may have never even entered or heard of the dungeon. This included dungeons that had no plans of being released, so it wasn't a sure sign of a new dungeon.
- After a revamp of the dungeon Jailbreak Tunnel, most missions given took place in this dungeon for a while due to an oversight. It has since been fixed.
