Mineral Cavern (MC) is a dungeon found southwest of Grassroot Town in Exbel. It provides the player HM Surf at the end of the dungeon, and has no boss to defeat in order to complete the dungeon.
There is darkness in the dungeon starting on Floor 1 that increases with every scenery set.
Mineral Cavern Outlet
You arrive here at the end of the dungeon, and encounter a Floatzel named Kai who lives in Exbel.
Kai: Yooo! You made it!
Kai: Pretty epic, I don't see that many newbies clearing Mineral Cavern.
Kai: Anyways... Since you came all this way...
Kai: You see that HM over there? The little blue disk sitting on that platform? That's all yours, bro!
Kai: This little dude will teach you how to surf, as long as you can learn the move. It totally opens up the world and lets you access more places!
Kai: In fact... You're part of a rescue team, right?
Kai: Haha, no need to answer, I can see your badge! That being said though, you can surf down to a little island from here. From there, you should be able to reach Crescent Islet.
Kai: Crescent Islet will take you over to the land of Archford. Lots of exploring potential there, and I'm sure you'll be stoked to check it out!
Kai: Just make sure you're all prepared, alright bud? I'll be cheering you on, and feel free to drop by my place for surfing lessons if ya want!
Kai: For now, I gotta run back home to inspect some mineral samples, I'll see you 'round.
Kai: Oh, and there is another dungeon called Southern Sea nearby. It's an awesome place if you're interested in that type of adventure! I'll be heading off now, good luck bud!
There's an HM Surf present in this room.
From here you may go up the ladder back to the entrance of the dungeon, or go down to Exbel Peninsula.
Exbel Peninsula
Exbel Peninsula is found going south in Mineral Cavern Outlet, also holding an assembly. Going north leads back to Mineral Cavern end room. If the current Pokémon has the move Surf, the dock here can be used to take the player to South Outpost Island.
Secret Room
Secret Rooms here can be found starting from Floor 11 with one enclosed Deluxe Box.
There's also a Garchomp named John Lee present in the Secret Room.
John Lee: I've been studying these mineral deposits for about a decade now. These crustal formations are astounding; it must be due to the sea water that pours into the caverns here. Interesting, isn't it?
