Mineral Cavern (MC) is a dungeon found southwest of Grassroot Town in Exbel. It provides the player HM Surf at the end of the dungeon, and has no boss to defeat in order to complete the dungeon. It may occasionally rain in this dungeon, but due to Psyduck's Cloud Nine Ability, the weather in Mineral Cavern is often clear. Almost all of the Pokémon here are Water-type.
After completing Mineral Cavern, the players gain access to Southern Sea and Crescent Islet.

Large quantities of water are found every floor and scattered puddles are common. There is darkness in the dungeon starting from the first floor all the way to the last floor.
On B4F, a set piece boasting four silt stones in a large square room can be seen in Mineral Cavern.
Mineral Cave Opening

You arrive here at the end of the dungeon, where a single HM Surf is found.
From here you may go up the ladder back to the entrance of the dungeon, or go down to Exbel Peninsula. If you didn't bring a Pokémon who can learn Surf or a Pokémon who already learned Surf, you'll have to go through the dungeon once more.
Exbel Peninsula

Outside of the opening, you can choose two routes. Going north into the cave will take you back to the opening, while going south will take you to a small port leading to South Outpost Island if you have Surf. If you use Surf or press enter while your Surf Pokémon is active, it will say "Water currents lead into the distance... would you like to use Surf?".

Items
Dungeon Objective
The main objective of this dungeon is to obtain HM Surf, and gain access to the dungeons Southern Sea and Crescent Islet.
This dungeon is also the first dungeon accessible for players to recruit Psyduck, Marill, Azumarill, Shuckle, Corphish, and West Sea Form Shellos.
Tips
- Players can continue onward to Southern Sea by exiting via the pathway southwards from Mineral Cave Opening after completing the dungeon, or alternatively warp back to the Crossroads by taking the ladder north.
- If the player plans on going to the Southern Sea but do not have a Pokémon that can learn Surf, have a space open in your party and recruit a Water-Type Pokémon in the dungeon before exiting the dungeon.
Trivia
- Mineral Cavern was made by the former mapper Dandy.
