P.MysteryUniverse Wiki

Concealed Laboratory (CL) is a dungeon that is southwest of Winden and Winden Training Dojo. It's the site of scientist Pokémon researching to create artificial friendship. It consists of Psychic- and Steel-types, with some Poison- and Electric-types, and has no weather.

Each end boss of the dungeon drops a fragment. There are three total and the player can go to the Treecko named Finn who stands near the entrance, and create an Affinity Pendant Affinity Pendant.

Upon approaching the laboratory for the first time, a Treecko called Finn interrupts you and asks for help.
  • Finn: Excuse me... Do you have... a moment?
  • Finn: I'm so scared... These strange Pokémon stole something very precious to me...
  • Finn: Back in Snowbasin... I tried to follow them, but they escaped me! I ran all the way down here... It's so cold...
  • Finn: *pant* *pant*
  • Finn: My pendent... I got it from my dear friend who I grew up with... Those Pokémon, they stole it!
  • Finn: They went inside that weird building... I'm scared to go in there! Could you please help me? Please...?!

  • ???: Well well, look what we've got here...
  • ???: Coming all the way here through our laboratory, huh? How impudent of you.
  • ???: Did Eze perhaps reveal our location? The foolish assistant just cannot keep that mouth of his shut.
  • Ardence: ...Ahem. The name's Ardence. Currently researching the boundaries of a certain phenomenon - it goes by the name of "kindness".
  • Ardence: Either way, I digress...
  • Ardence: Are you ready for XL3? My newest kindness-generation potion prototype, infused with the energy of this little fragment right here!
  • Ardence: There's no turning back now! After this, you shall forever be my companion! Forever! Fwohoho!
  • Ardence: Come here, little lab rat!
After defeating
  • Ardence: ... What? The fragment did not work?
  • Ardence: A fatal flaw in my experiment. The subject was able to resist the fragment's power.
  • Ardence: ... I do not understand. Am I being too naive?
  • Ardence: Forcing friendships... Is that really an act of kindness? I must think this through.
  • Ardence: My colleagues and I... We all have a separate fragment. Perhaps their fragments do work?
  • Ardence: What am I saying? It shouldn't matter. It's just a stupid pendant. And if it doesn't even do the job, then what use do I have for it?
  • Ardence: Nevertheless... This is enough reason for a revision of mind.
  • Ardence: I shall take my leave now.

Synkro

  • Minigear: It's no use looking for it.. It seems we have a visitor, Big Gear.
  • Big Gear: A visitor? Krrkk.. A potential thief! What a coincidence, for one of the experiments to show up right at this time, huh..
  • Minigear: Are you saying it has pilfered our fragment? Is it a double agent?
  • Big Gear: Double Agent! Traitor! Thief!
  • Minigear: Thief!
  • Big Gear: Chrrrch.. Thief! You are not getting away with this! We, Synkro, do not accept such heinous acts!
  • Synkro: After it!
After defeating
  • Big Gear: Crrcchhhh...
  • Minigear: Aaaahhh.. What?! The pilferer is also skilled in battle! I did not see this coming, Big Gear.
  • Big Gear: Minigear, you dropped the fragment on the floor just now! The subject was not actually a thief!
  • Minigear: Kkrrk.. Seems like we still have quite a bit to learn about trust...
  • Big Gear: It's time to check up with the others and revise our plans.
  • Big Gear: And to our subject over here...
  • Synkro: I suppose we owe you an apology. Feel free to look around this room for a little, but don't make yourself at home.
  • Synkro: Farewell.

  • Proton: Loyalty is the key to holding a friendship.
  • Proton: And every Pokémon will be my friend.
  • Proton: Why? Because that is enjoyable to me. Who does not want the entire universe to be their friend?
  • Proton: Will you be my first friend? If you are the first, you can be my best friend, too.
  • Proton: As a matter of fact, there is no need for me to ask. All I have to do is show loyalty, and this fragment should take care of the rest.
  • Proton: It's time for a hug, friend. Come here! Hugs are a sign of loyalty to one another.
  • [Player Name]: ...
  • Proton: You resist? I will repeat, it is time for a hug. We must perform friendly acts to keep our loyalty levels high.
  • Proton: .......
  • Proton: COME HERE!
After defeating
  • Proton: Wh-What?!
  • Proton: I... do not understand.
  • Proton: The fragments of this pendant were supposed to enhance friendship, yet all I feel is resistance.
  • Proton: Maybe... the saying is right. Loyalty might be a two-way street.
  • Proton: But then, where does that leave me? Was our experiment... doomed to fail from the start?
  • Proton: As embarrassing as this is for me to say...
  • Proton: It seems that our plans need a thorough revision before we can proceed.
  • Proton: Please, take the fragment off me, subject. I have no further need for this.
  • Proton: Until next time.
