Caustic Sewers (CS, sewers) is a dungeon found in the Tanren Undercity. Rock Smash will be needed, but a warp where the entrance is can be used to skip the Rock Smash puzzle if the dungeon has been beaten before. The player will to go to Ancient Caustic Sewers when they beat all the floors and the boss, through the midpoint. No weather is present in Caustic Sewers.

There's darkness throughout the dungeon, and the water will poison any Pokémon that crosses over it if it is not immune in some way.
On Floor 25 is a sealed chamber.

Boss
The boss of Caustic Sewers is a resemblance to Team Skull from Explorers of Time, Darkness and Sky, which are of Skuntank, Koffing, and Zubat. Skuntank says they were hired to investigate the leaking of toxic waste in the dungeon. They think the player is trying to interfere with the job and possibly try to take the reward for themselves, so they initiate battle.
They know the following moves:
- Koffing: Assurance, Gyro Ball, Sludge, Smog
- Skuntank: Acid Spray, Flamethrower, Night Slash, Slash
- Zubat: Air Cutter, Bite, Leech Life, Poison Fang

- Koffing: Woah-ho-ho. Sorry boss, we were just checking out this cool 'Skull Brooch' and the other Skull items that you stole from the Desert Fangs!
- Zubat: Heh-heh. Yeah, Chief. What he said. Did you know if you rub them, they start to play strange mus-
- Skuntank: Chaw-haw-haw. You idiots, I don't care about that. What I DO care about is this little brat that is in our way. I told them to scram but they're still standing there.
- Koffing: Woah-ho-ho! You heard what the Chief said, hit the road or we'll hit it for ya!
- Zubat: Heh-heh. That's not how you say it.

- Skuntank: Chaw-haw-haw! Enough of that you fools, let's just make this little idiot hightail it out of here and then get on with our task. C'mon!

- Skuntank: Chaw... haw-haw. How did a little twerp like you manage to stand up like that, against Team Skull?
- Koffing: Woah... ho-ho.. The pain..
- Zubat: Wheh-heh-heh.. Chief, how did we lose?
- Skuntank: Shut it, you two, we didn't lose to nobody!
- Skuntank: You there, Kid. You haven't seen the last of us Team Skull. Consider yourself lucky.
- Skuntank: Come on, guys. We're not done with our assignment yet!
- Skuntank: We have to get to the bottom of this mystery before the brat here does, and steals the reward from under our feet! Now, fang it, boys! Char-haw-haw!

Abandoned Camp
After the boss at the end of the dungeon is a break point with a healing bed and Kangaskhan Storage. It leads to Ancient Caustic Sewers.

Dungeon Objective
The goal is to complete it and get to Ancient Caustic Sewers. Caustic Sewers and its continuation are regarded as the best dungeons to obtain Ekop. It is also a location where Pink Silk for Poison-types may be obtained.
Tips
- A way to heal or prevent statuses (mainly poison) is recommended.
- Beware of Garbodor and Skuntank's Aftermath ability. Getting caught in the blast can lead to fainting if you're low on health.
